This trick is a combination of the air and the el rollo. Instead of rolling with the lip, Ben Player has extended by launching above the wave as if he was going for an aerial in Seq 1. instead of flowing in the direction of the air by launching up and out, he has changed his direction by rolling above and over with the lip.

In Seq 2, the wave and his body motion have thrown him outwards in the same arc as the lip. Ben has wrenched his board around in one smooth motion so it's back underneath his body. As he drops back down, he needs to re-centre above it and concentrate on where he will land and brace for impact. In the final sequence, Benny boy has pulled it.

Ben Player began riding a bodyboard at Avalon Beach after being inspired by his older brother Toby. As a grommet, Ben worked his way up the amateur contest rankings and today has established himself as a serious contender in any pro contest he enters. Having just completed school, he has taken the year off to travel and surf as many different locations as he can before he settles down to a career as a pro bodyboarder on the GOB circuit. Many people believe Ben, with his unique bodyboarding talent, could be a major threat as a world title contender in the not-too-distant future.
